Google Buzz Again

Comments

Great comprehensive article on Buzz along with the full press event/rollout from Tuesday. There are still holes in the documentation of this service (such as what certain graphic elements in the interface actually do), but hopefully those holes will be filled soon. Posting this to Buzz too.

Pubsubhubub and Buzz

Comments

Not entirely satisfied with the speed of updates on Buzz, I have installed a Pubsubhubub plugin on my Wordpress installation to see if makes a difference. I also have Pingshot enabled on Feedburner which should enable real time posts, but I am not sure which feed Buzz is grabbing – the XML feed or the Feedburner feed. After this posts, will see how quickly it appears on Buzz.

Solid article on Google Chrome as your primary development browser. Good stuff from a good source.

Google Buzz

Comments

Watched the release event live today. Pretty awesome looking product. Waiting for my Gmail to get the service (could take a day or two to populate to all users). Most of the buzz talking about it being a Facebook killer – really it just killed FriendFeed today for sure. It was like watching the launch of FF all over again. Weird. And it’s interesting how Facebook is the one social platform that matters that was absent from the “feeds” that Buzz can grab in this release.

Also nice to hear that Apps support is coming in next rev. This will be huge for Google Apps clients as it is a way to implement a “wave”-like experience today without hosting your own Wave server.

Trackle Goes Pro; Launches Premium Version Of Realtime Tracking Alerts

Comments

This looks like an interesting SaaS tool for managing and tracking your online “presence”. May need to take a closer look at this for work use – could be a good way to automate searching for mentions and branding.

Crederity Offers Easy Verification Services

Comments

Interesting new service that lets you create a verified Twitter identity in a few minutes. Now, even if your not a celebrity or large corporation, you can obtain an indentity verification that you can share with Twitter and other services. Its free for personal use and the setup could not be easier. Set my account up in a few minutes and it modifies your Twitter avatar with a verification seal. Neat stuff and worth a look if you want to have a verified account presence on Twitter.

Firebug Demystified | W3Avenue

Comments

My team uses Firebug and I occasionally scratch the surface of what it can do. It’s one of those tools with so much capability that it scares me a little. This article over at w3avenue is a good starting point for getting to know Firebug and what it can do for you. Just wish there was a full version out for Google Chrome. Maybe someday.

Firebug :: Add-ons for Firefox

Comments

New version 1.5.0 of Firebug out today – sweet! The only reason I still keep Firefox around (instead of using Chrome for everything). What would make my year is the release of a true working version for Chrome instead of the bogus Firebug lite (which does not work with a lot of sites).
